Ambitious plans for the Copernicus Cup

The best athletes are ready for the 4th Copernicus Cup. Tomorrow at the Arena Torun fans will see the great event, which is part of the IAAF World Indoor Tour. The start is at 18:00.

 

On Thursday’s evening the athletes from nearly 50 countries will create a great show in Torun. There will be plenty of the emotions in all competitions. The competitors, who came to the city of Nicolaus Copernicus, are an absolute top. The leaders of the world lists, WR holders and the medallist of the most important global events will take part in the Copernicus Cup. The stars of the meeting don’t hide, that they have ambitious plans connected with the start at the Arena Torun.

- I will not hide, that I want to improve the 400m Polish record (52.00). I think I’m on the right way to achieve it. – reassures Justyna Swiety-Ersetic.

In addition, for every winner of competition is given a bonus. For polish fans the most important competition is pole vault. The leader of the series is Piotr Lisek, who assures that the fans will be the witnesses of really high jumps on Thursday.

 - I hope that the competition will be exciting, because we will fight for the final triumph in the IAAF World Indoor Tour – says Piotr Lisek.

The athletes have a great heart, like a Marcin Lewandowski. The whole prize money earned during the Copernicus Cup he’s giving to the charity. In this way, the European champion wants to improve the 1500m NR and donate the money to treat two children from his home town Police.

If someone will not be able to come to the Arena Torun in person, can watch the meeting on tv (TVP2 and TVP Sport). The 4th Copernicus Cup starts at 6 p.m.
