Middle-distance runs provide lots of emotion and joy to the polish fans. The organisers of the IAAF World Indoor Tour Copernicus Cup prepared a huge dose of emotions – on the track of the Arena Torun we will see the incredible contests!
Hellen Onsando Obiri is a Kenyan runner, whose name is known around the athletic world. She is an Olympic runner-up, two times medalist of the World Championship and the gold medalist of African Championship. In addition she achieved a world record at an untypical distance – relay team 4x1500m. Now it is time to start in front of the polish stands. Obiri will take part in the 1500m run. On the track of the Arena Torun she will compete with ambitious polish runner – Sofia Ennaoui. Beside Obiri and Ennaoui, supporters will see the European Championship – Meraf Bahta. As the organizers ensure, there will be also a world-class competition in the men’s 800m.
- I always say that the good athletics meetings are like a theatrical performance. At the Arena Torun everything is more tangible, the competitors, who are the actors of the show, are closer to the stands. The supporters will have such stars like Adam Kszczot, Ethiopian Mohammed Aman or Kenyan Kipyegon Bett close at hand. It’s the top of the 800m runners, they are the medalists of the most important championships. Their presence at the Copernicus Cup is a real joy for the fans. – convinces Krzysztof Wolsztynski, General Director of the Copernicus Cup.
The 4th edition of the Copernicus Cup is taking place at the Arena Torun on the 15th of February. The competition starts at 6 p.m. The tickets are available at www.ebilet.pl, the EMPIK shops and the box offices of the Arena Torun.
